About Me
My name is Eli Penson. I am a self-taught photographer and 2019 graduate of Alcoa High School. I found myself falling in love with photography around my junior year of high school in the fall of 2017. I had just become apart of the yearbook staff, a year prior, and realized it was one of the best decisions that I had ever made. From there, I began to learn more about the gear I had access to and found ways to make money from my craft.
Following my high school graduation, I attended the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Art Media & Photography.
A semester into college, I was offered an opportunity to work with Apple Inc. in Cupertino, California for my photography. I accepted and moved to San Jose, CA in January of 2020. Due to COVID-19, my process was placed on hold a few months in, causing me to move back home to Alcoa, TN and continue my freelance journey in portrait photography.

I am accepting appointment bookings for the Blount County and Knoxville area through the rest of 2020.
